Hello From Beautiful Colorado Springs,
June was busy, but good. Luzie had Her Dance Recital with Queenie and I sitting in the front row. So very proud of my Girl, She continues to dance, but now She also Teaches and choreographs. My Girls were professionally trained in Ballet at an early age. I mentioned the recital in a previous post.
July was a bit of a trial for us, but we are well, happy and healthy. Queenie’s work continues to be spot on. I have been working on the two transcription courses I am enrolled in, spending time with friends and taking time to just be.
My Children from Florida were here for a week, but of course I didn’t get as much time with them as I would have liked. They came for my Son-In-Law’s brother’s wedding. My Beautiful Baby boy is just that, Beautiful, healthy and on the move. He has learned to walk, and boy can he move fast. He and Queenie quickly figured out their rhythm and enjoyed playing together. So very proud of my Daughter, She is a wonderful Momma. They stayed with Luzie, giving Luzie time with them. Both my Daughters are wonderful Aunts to this Baby Boy. I keep saying that I will continue to call Him my Beautiful Baby Boy well into His adulthood.
We ended the month last Thursday with Good Friends, good food and a bit of wine and beer. I have always enjoyed entertaining people in my home, and this was the first time we had Friends over in our new home. One of our Friends is celebrating Her two year Matchaversary with Her boy, and for this we are grateful. Those of you who are Handlers understand how precious a good Match can be.
Queenie and Lyons had a great time playing after we ate dinner and let them romp.
We are loving our new home, the location and the space.
The Metro drivers continue to have a bit of trouble finding our home, but it is gradually getting better. This is funny because I who am so geographically challenged gives the professionally trained drivers directions.
We started the month of August with Gratitude and anticipation for our future. My Beauty Amanda has started a new job, and I am so happy for Her. My Girl is a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist in Texas. I have always said She is the best O&M I have had even before Her training.
The up-coming school year is going to be busy, but this is exactly what I need.
I mentioned in an earlier post that I have a contract with an Academy in Texas. Those of you who know me well, know how ironic this is for me to be working for an Academy in Texas. Anyway the premise is a good one, they don’t only Teach the children, but serve the Family as well.
At this point I am uncertain as to how many hours the director will be sending my way.
Our other news is that this past Tuesday I received an offer for a full-time Teaching position with a district in Idaho. Now remember, I am admittedly geographically challenged, so when the offer for an interview came up, I had to check my map to figure out where Idaho is. I interviewed and was offered the position.
I am so excited to be having a full case load again. No, not moving to Idaho, LOL. Colorado adopted me and I am here to stay.
My Family in Texas are all converging in El Paso next week. I love them all, but I am not part of this gathering. Praying they have a great time together. I have two Sisters and one Remaining Brother in Texas.
Tomorrow Friday Queenie and I will be having a celebratory lunch with Friends. Unless one of them reads this post, they don’t know what we are celebrating.
So, as our Guide Dog Handler training Teaches, “Forward” is our destination.
Thanks for reading
